Hold your weapon with both hands, adding weight to your swings. Hold your weapon with your main hand, which allows the use of an off-hand accessory, such as shields, daggers, guns. Using a weapon two-handed allows you to do more posture damage and swing slightly faster then using a weapon one-handed, but also makes you unable to equip side weapons and shields. Light weapon users are locked to a one-handed stance, and Heavy weapon users are locked to a two-handed stance, however you can one-hand a heavy weapon if you have 50 heavy weapon and get one-hand training talent. Changing your stance will change the way you hold your weapon. Certain weapons can also scale off of a player's Attunement. All weapons have a Scaling stat that, depending on it's value, will determine how much of an increase in damage your stats will contribute. In addition, some weapons have additional requirements, such as Fortitude (FTD) for shields and Strength (STR) for some heavy weapons. To increase your damage with a weapon, you must invest in the corresponding stat, which are Light Weapons (LHT), Medium Weapons (MED), or Heavy Weapons (HVY). Weapons can also come with an enchant or a curse, which provide special effects to your weapon. It is best to obtain the max possible stars for the weapon you want, which is three, in order to maximize damage, however this may prove a tiresome task considering how rare a favorable weapon can be. When obtaining a weapon, it may come with a star on them, which adds a certain buff to the weapon, such as extra Armor Penetration, or Weight (Posture damage). The max Weapon stat you can get is 75, but you may increase it by completing a certain quest, related to the Blade Temple at the Isle of Vigils. Your Weapon Stat increases weapon damage.

Once you have enough EXP, you may use a Weapon Manual in order to allocate your invesment points to your Weapon Stat. Training your Weapon stat requires you to hit/parry with your weapon. Weapons can be bought from shops, or obtained from chests. Tools constructed with the intent to harm others, polished to be efficient killing devices.
